Thanks to the fabulous Primrose Reader and Mister C, we managed to get the second wii hooked up and running. Which was a good thing–although we only had 16 people show up, it was much easier to have two games running so everyone could play, rather than having a long wait. We also had three DS with various games, just in case people ever did have to wait.
Most of the kids had bowled before, but their grandparents (and in some cases, parents) were less familiar with the game. That stopped no one from having a grand time, however, and one of the grandmothers even outscored her younger teammates! We made certificates for all of the participants with silly categories like “Best Celebratory Gesture/Dance” and “Best New Bowler.”
The event went extraordinarily well, and everyone had a great time. Hopefully we can do this again in the not too distant future!
• If we have two wiis, it’s good to have two projectors
• Mister C’s setup is the best–it minimizes tripping opportunities
• Snacks and beverages are a good thing
I will post a video later, after I have uploaded all of the photos I took.
